Hannah Berner has apologized following her controversial interview with Megan Thee Stallion on the red carpet for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

On Sunday (March 3), Berner and her "Giggly Squad" podcast co-host, Paige DeSorbo, interviewed several Hollywood stars before they entered the Oscars after-party.

The pair's interview with Megan Thee Stallion went viral due to comments Berner made toward the Grammy Award-winning rapper that social media users considered a "microaggression" and "racist."

"Your music has literally made me want — when I want to fight someone, I listen to your music," Berner told Meg, adding, "When people are talking sh**, I go, 'Turn on Megan Thee Stallion!'"

Berner faced swift backlash for linking Meg with fighting, violence, and aggression when the "Hot Girl" is known for making music that empowers women to be confident and love themselves.

The podcast host and former reality television star addressed the backlash in a statement on her Instagram Story on Thursday (March 6).

"Interviewing Megan Thee Stallion was a dream of mine. I love her music and it's my go to whenever I need to boost my confidence before a show. Looking back at the interview, I wish I used any other word except 'fight' to describe how her songs impact me," Berner wrote.

"It was a careless choice of words and though there was no ill intent, I recognize and acknowledge that what I said has a deeper meaning and I am so sorry to Megan," she added. "I appreciate everyone who brought this to my attention."

During Sunday's interview, Megan appeared to respond to Berner's comments by diverting the conversation back to her message of self-love.

"You want to throw that fighting sh** out the window, and you want to get cute and be a bad b****," the rapper said.

Social media users were more critical in their response to Berner's interview.

"Megan doesn’t have a single song about fighting," one social media user said.

"Meg was like “fight people? Girl, I make Bad Bih music. Do you see these nails? We don’t fight," another user added.

"Meg handled that micro aggression so well," a third user commented.

"The racism is loud," a fourth user said.
