Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have confirmed that a sequel is in the works for Good Burger.

The pair appeared on Friday (March 17) night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and broke the news that the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 film is officially happening, per CNN.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Good Burger, home of the Good Burger — part two!" Mitchell said before the audience erupted in excitement.

The original Good Burger sketch first appeared on Nickelodeon's All That in 1994 with Thompson as Dexter and Mitchell as Ed. The comedy sketch was made into a film that debuted over 25 years ago in July 1997.

"It’s such a blessing man. It’s unbelievable,” Thompson told late-night host Jimmy Fallon of the sequel. “We’re gonna shoot it this summer and it’ll be out soon.”

The sequel's plot is set to feature Dexter “down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails,” according to a press release.

“Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back,” according to the plot line. “With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”

Good Burger 2 is expected to hit Paramount+ later this year, per CNN.
